Admission Procedures

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree is awarded upon the successful completion of four and half years of study and one year of internship to the students as per the regulations of the Dental Council of India (DCI). The course incorporates lectures, demonstrations, group discussions, seminars, clinical work, and other action-based learning.

The aim and objective of the curriculum are to produce dentists who have adequate knowledge and necessary skills required for carrying out activities appropriate to a general dental practice involving the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of anomalies and diseases of the teeth, mouth, jaws, and associated tissues. The graduates should also understand the concept of community oral health education and be able to participate in the rural health care delivery programs existing in the country.

Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology put together, are eligible and also studied English as a compulsory subject in the Plus Two level. As per allotment by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination (CEE), Govt. of Kerala from among the KEAM Rank list prepared based on the NEET Score

Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as of the 31st of December of the same year. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit.

Nativity: Only Keralites are eligible for admission to the BDS course as per the statutory board.
